Job description
Duty Station: Mogadishu
Duration of Contract: 7 Months
Closing Date: Tuesday, 14th April 2026
The Cook will be responsible for the following:
- Prepare and cook meals in accordance with approved menus and schedules
- Ensure meals are nutritious, well-presented, and served on time
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times
- Clean and properly store kitchen utensils, equipment, and appliances
- Ensure food is stored safely and appropriately to avoid spoilage or contamination .
- Assist with menu planning and food preparation as required
- Monitor food supplies and inform the supervisor of items that need replenishment
- Minimize food waste and ensure cost-effective use of ingredients
- Follow health, safety, and food handling regulations
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
Skills and qualifications
Qualifications
- Minimum of [1–3] years’ experience working as a cook. Basic knowledge of food hygiene, safety, and sanitation practices
- Ability to prepare a variety of meals
- Previous experience in an institution, or organizational kitchen is an advantage
